Alongside your practical and academic classes, students are frequently required to prepare and simulate the experiences of the working industry.
In Performance Preparation classes, you will work alongside professional tutors and guests to experience other job roles within the industry, including backstage and administrative roles. This will enhance your understanding of the theatre and performance industry.
You will also be required to prepare for mock audition assignments, testing out material in a safe environment before a panel of your tutors.
In Project Class, you will bring together skills from all your classes to create partially and fully realised theatre and live performance works – from dance numbers to plays and fully-fledged musicals. You will also be supported to create your online professional profile, learn effective self-tape and casting skills and at the end of your two years, will perform in a West End theatre to invited industry guests.

The Extended Diploma is run at our dedicated building in central Brighton and specialist studios nearby. Here, you’ll find dance studios with sprung flooring, full-length mirrors and sound systems, fully equipped rehearsal and music rooms, a drama studio and a studio theatre and an IT suite.
These all create a professional environment where students can learn their craft to the best of their ability.
BN1 Arts has dedicated student support team and SEND team.
Our Student Support team is available for one-to-one tutorial sessions to discuss anything you may be struggling with. These can include any topic, ranging from personal issues to attendance-related queries.
The student services team can be accessed by students throughout the college day and we encourage you to see us at any time, for additional support as and when needed.
