If you know anything about our big sister BN1 Arts, you know we like to do things
differently and NXT GEN is no exception.
We are the ONLY academy in Brighton for 12–16-year-olds who want to study music
AND performing arts. Maybe you love musical theatre but dream of writing songs, or
maybe you’re a budding DJ but would like to try acting – the combinations are
endless.
If this is YOU, then you’re in the right place , or you will be, if you’re hanging with us on
a Saturday afternoon between 1.30 pm and 5.00 pm.

Musical Theatre
Step into the world of Musical Theatre! You'll train across every core skill, from ballet, tap, and jazz to commercial dance, acting, scene study, vocal technique, and ensemble performance. Build a strong foundation in a dynamic, supportive environment, and bring it all together in powerful end-of-term showcases.
Acting
Join our Acting Pathway and dive into the world of stage and screen! Work as an ensemble in a hands-on, high-energy environment, building skills in acting techniques, camera work, scene study, movement, and voice. You’ll train to master everything from classic roles to immersive performances, ending each term with exciting live and digital showcases.
Dance
Jump into our Dance Artist Pathway and elevate your technique across a range of styles! Train intensively in ballet, jazz, tap, commercial, contemporary, and street, building on your foundation to reach new heights as a dancer. These sessions are designed to push your skills and artistry, helping you grow as a versatile, powerful performer.
DJ and Production
If you're into beat-making, DJ skills, live sound production, or digital music creation, this is your pathway! Immerse yourself in audio mixing, live sound recording, media composition, and music business basics. You'll explore a range of production techniques, sharpen your style, and build confidence as a budding music creator.
Vocals
This pathway is perfect for vocalists looking to enhance their craft! Participate in classes focused on technical training, songwriting, studio recording, and microphone techniques. You'll develop your voice and performance skills, all while exploring your unique style as a singer.
Songwriting and Performance
If you have a passion for lyrics, love creating melodies, and can write catchy hooks, this pathway is for you! Designed for aspiring songwriters, you’ll explore a variety of techniques that not only express your artistic voice but also lay the groundwork for a career in music. You’ll focus on songwriting methods, music production, performance skills, musical styles, ear training, and the music business—all while building your confidence as a creative artist.
Music Performance
Dream of fronting a band? Calling all drummers, bassists, guitarists, and keyboard players! Join our Music Performance Pathway and take your skills to the next level. Collaborate with fellow musicians, learn stage presence, and master live performance techniques. You’ll work on ensemble playing, songwriting, and developing your unique sound, all while gaining confidence as a performer.
