The BN1 Arts Extended Diploma in The Creative Music Industry is a two-year vocational course designed to develop aspirant music professionals by focusing on the vocational skills required for a successful career in the music industry, and the academic skills required for success in further training.

BN1 Arts has dedicated student support teams and can offer one-to-one pastoral support.

At BN1, our Arts Vocational Qualifications are designed to be industry-led and practical. As a student here, you'll have the exciting opportunity to regularly encounter the professional work environment. If you're a performer like me, you'll get to showcase your talent through termly performances held at incredible local venues such as Concorde2, Komedia, The Old Market, The Latest Music Bar, and Patterns. It's such a thrill to perform in these fantastic spaces!

As a producer, you'll have the chance to work in a commercial recording studio and collaborate with industry professionals, including publishers, record companies, and media creatives. It's a unique opportunity to learn from the best in the field and gain practical experience.

The live shows and recording sessions are where you can truly shine and gain real-world professional performance experience. It's an amazing platform to create breathtaking performances and pieces of work that you can proudly share with your peers, friends, family, and the wider community. If you've discovered your passion for music but want to expand your horizons in the world of acting and performing arts, our program is designed to enhance your skill set and employability. You can take classes alongside your music diploma and dive into acting for camera, commercial dance, and a weekly private singing lesson. By immersing yourself in this comprehensive curriculum, you'll deepen your artistic abilities and broaden your range of talents. Our experienced indutry instructors will provide professional guidance, helping you grow as a well-rounded performer. BN1 Arts has dedicated student support team and SEND team. 

Our Student Support team is available for one-to-one tutorial sessions to discuss anything you may be struggling with. These can include any topic, ranging from personal issues to attendance-related queries.

 The student services team can be accessed by students throughout the college day and we encourage you to see us at any time, for additional support as and when needed.

We are available to help if you are struggling with your coursework or if you have told us about a

special educational need you may have. As well as being able to help with your academic work, our learning support tutors are active in the creative industries, working in live performance, TV, Radio, songwriting and studio and live engineering. We are here to help, you are always welcome to pop into the student support office and have a chat. If you hold an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), please share this with our student support team and we will be in touch to arrange a meeting to work together and formulate a support plan.

At BN1 we are proud to have some of the creative industry’s most experienced and talented practitioners and lecturers. Our delivery team have worked with everybody from The Rolling Stones at Wembley, via the studio with M1 on the Beat (Drake), through to Hamilton in London’s West End. 

Our current industry experienced lecturers design and deliver our curriculum, not just connecting you with the creative industry, but ensuring the creative industry is in our building. 

The Extended Diploma is run at our dedicated building in central Brighton and specialist studios nearby. Here, you’ll find large studios with sprung flooring, full-length mirrors and sound systems, fully equipped rehearsal and music rooms, a drama studio, a studio theatre, an IT suite and a recording studio. .

These all create a professional environment where students can learn their craft to the best of their ability.

After your audition, we will then make you an offer of a place or suggest how you can develop your skills further to meet the required standard. Please try not to leave your application to the last minute as courses do fill up very quickly and we’d hate for you to be disappointed.
