At BN1 Arts we believe everyone should have the opportunity to access creative arts training, and we are on a mission to ensure that can happen.
Schools are struggling without essential support and financial backing, leaving creative subjects like music and performing arts at risk. The high cost of crucial resources, from Mac suites to dance studios, has created a severe shortage of funds, threatening the core of creative arts education.
The absence of these subjects from mainstream education creates exclusivity, hindering talent development for families who can't afford private lessons. This leads to a decline in the creative talent pipeline, impacting progression into higher education.
Despite financial constraints, we are committed to providing spaces for young creatives through extracurricular activities in music, dance, and performing arts as well as our industry-led diploma courses.
Over the coming months, we're organising events to highlight the need for intervention which kicked off with our launch on Jan 26 with Peter Kyle, MP, a keen supporter of the arts and our mission.
We are honoured to have many powerful voices who have joined our campaign already, many of whom are featured in the video below. But we need more - we hope everyone will join us.
We were joined by Peter Kyle MP and supporters from the industry to officially open BN1 Arts Centre.
The funding we receive from the Department for Educaton covers the basic costs of delivering our Diploma courses.
But our students need so much more if they are to receive the best industry-led arts education we have to offer them.
Your support will provide much-needed funding for:
- End-of-term shows
- Student-led gigs
- Industry-standard equipment and resources
- Talks and masterclasses from our industry contacts
- Bursaries for our low-income students
- Anything else that removes financial and practical barriers for students who want to attend BN1 Arts.
BN1 Arts Centre provides a dynamic cultural programme for mixed ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Our aim is to provide a welcoming professional space with opportunities for the wider community to try out a diverse range of activities to develop creative practice.
Your support will enable us to:
- Fund free open access to music and creative arts programmes in the school holidays.
- Fund free places for low-income households for our evening and weekend class programme
- Pay for instruments for aspiring musicians
- Fund our plans for the very first BN1 Arts Festival to provide an opportunity for our diverse community to shine.
Make a one-off donation to help us to provide free access to the creative arts for our students and our community.
