Free taster workshops for all ages and abilities funded by Arts Council England.
Lorraine Le-Blanc Davis, Centre Manager for BN1 Arts Centre in Brighton, has been awarded funds through Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants to run a Community Arts Programme for marginalised groups in Brighton.
The award will be used to develop a sustainable, inclusive arts space reflecting the diversity of the community - bringing together aspiring and professional creatives to learn from and inspire each other.
In partnership with BN1 Arts, Brighton & Hove City Council, Urbanflo Creative, and local community ambassadors, Lorraine will produce an eclectic programme of special ‘taster’ sessions in Dance/Choreography, Music Production/Recording, Crafts etc to run alongside fortnightly ‘Friday Night Showcase’ events to platform live Musicians, Singers and Spoken Word artists performing to intimate audiences.

Siggi Mawasote is a distinguished female singer and vocal coach, has significantly shaped the musical landscape of the South Coast with her versatile talents. As the leader of the Spring into Soul choir, Siggi guided the ensemble to impressive heights, culminating in their recognition as finalists on BBC’s Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year in 2018. Her impactful leadership extended to being the lead vocalist of the AfroFunk collective, Lakuta, gracing major UK festivals such as Glastonbury,
Latitude, Secret Garden Party, Love Supreme, and Wilderness to name a few.

Lee's stage productions include Singing in the Rain, Riverdance and Magic of the dance Fruitful and fore-filling, Lee is currently a university tutor and works in all areas of the arts. Lee's latest performance work include 2 short films with a massive injection of tap dancing and after 3 tours performing with the amazing dance group Diversity, Lee is still stepping on stage with them and most recently performed with them on BGT (Britain's Got Talent).

Jason Keenan-Smith is Artistic Director of ThreeScoreDance, a distinguished dance artist and trained movement psychotherapist. His performance career includes companies such as English National Opera, The Featherstonehaughs, Protein Dance, Union Dance and Walker Dance Park Music. As a choreographer, he has worked with The Place Theatre, The Gate Theatre, Getty images, and Brighton Dome. Currently senior lecturer at University of Chichester, he continues to explore parity of expression and the portrayal of human experiences

MRISI is a multi-faceted artist, with well-honed skills as a pianist, rapper, singer and producer. He has produced tracks across genres for numerous artists and is an established live and session musician. He has performed around the UK and South Africa working alongside artists such as Omar, Prince Fatty, Kokoroko, Sadat X, Octavian, Yazmyn Hendrix and many other established artists. Some of Mrisi performances include the Commonwealth Games, Brighton Dome, Concord 2, The RoundHouse and Ronnie Scott’s.
AfroHouse - With roots in underground club culture, Afro House builds on traditional African Dance forms like Zulu, Pedi including newer forms like Ndombolo, Kwaito and Pantsula. Accompanied by Afro Beat and Ghom, a music style from the township of KwaZulu, Natal. Join in the fun with great music and great moves for the whole family.

Salma El Mallah is a dynamic and passionate dancer, known for her creativity and versatility across a variety of styles, including Belly Dance, Afrobeats, Salsa, and Hip Hop. As a key member of the Visual Artists crew, she has delivered captivating performances at prestigious events like Breaking Convention, the world's biggest festival of hip hop dance. Her talent has also led her to TV work with Adidas and the opportunity to travel internationally, featuring in music videos for renowned artists such as Ty Le Blanc. Salma's dedication and passion for dance shine through in every performance, making her a standout artist in the dance community.

She is primarily a life model, and she runs her own classes, Drawversity, a life drawing class that introduces BIPOC people to the world of life modelling in an attempt to create equality in the fine art industry. In the last year, she started a new project called Black Brighton Market, a space created where BIPOC can sell their goods, services and perform at a monthly event whose sole purpose is to make equal opportunity and profit in the BIPOC community.

Sita Yebga is a freelance aerial circus instructor, dance teacher, and personal trainer. With a rich background in performing arts and fitness, Sita has cultivated a unique skill set that merges a passion for physical conditioning alongside artistic expression. Sita has worked with a number of organizations across Brighton & Hove such as Stagecoach, Blue Moon Circus, The Circus Project, Skulptur & Bandbazi. These experiences have honed her abilities to not only perform at a high level but also to teach and inspire others. She has taught aerial circus for over 10 years to all ages & abilities, at schools, community programs, festivals and corporate events.
Siggi and Adriana will host a night of pure entertainment with a live band and great voices.
